Job summary

SK Battery America, Inc. is seeking a highly analytical controls engineer to optimize production efficiency and maintain battery manufacturing equipment. You will troubleshoot PLC/HMI systems, guide installations, and coordinate with maintenance teams to minimize downtime.

The role requires 5+ years in PLC/HMI environments, battery production experience is a plus, and on-call support may be required due to 24/7 operations. Strong problem-solving and cross-department collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
5+ years of experience with PLCs and HMIs in a high-volume manufacturing maintenance environment.
Battery maintenance experience is a plus (electrode, assembly, formation).
Experience with installation and setup of new battery production equipment.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and devise effective solutions to address equipment challenges and minimize downtime.
Oversee installation and startup of new or modified production equipment.
Analyze PLC/HMI issues and develop corrective actions.
Establish and follow a preventive maintenance plan.
Manage spare parts inventory and write purchasing orders.
Collaborate with other departments and external vendors to improve uptime, safety and quality.
