Job summary

GDI is innovating energy storage with silicon anode technology for defense and high-performance markets. This position, reporting to a Senior Battery Materials Engineer, will assist laboratory testing, coin/pouch cell construction, and data analysis to improve performance. Strong hands-on lab skills and battery chemistry knowledge are essential.

Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States. Travel up to 30% may be required for collaborations and testing.

Qualifications

• Extensive laboratory experience in making and characterization of materials.
• Fundamental chemical and mechanical engineering principles.
• Familiarity with material characterization techniques (SEM/EDS, TEM, XRD, TGA).

Responsibilities

• You will be reporting to Senior Battery Materials Engineer.
• Operate and manage equipment for laboratory testing including battery cycler systems.
• Construction of coin/pouch cells for internal/external testing up to 35% of workload.
• Provide engineering analysis on component impact on cell performance.
• Prepare summary reports and communicate results effectively.
