Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer in Warren, MI to develop, launch, and continuously improve battery module and pack assembly processes. You will connect product design with manufacturing, equipment execution, and plant operations, working with product engineering, plant engineering, quality, and suppliers to deliver safe, robust, and cost-effective production-ready processes.

The role requires translating requirements into process specs, supporting prototypes through production

Qualifications

• 3–7 years of experience in automotive manufacturing.
• Experience developing or improving assembly processes in automotive or battery environments.
• Experience with process development, equipment integration, tooling, error-proofing, or manufacturing quality methods.
• Master’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.

Responsibilities

• Develop, launch, and continuously improve manufacturing processes for battery module and pack assembly.
• Collaborate with product engineering, manufacturing engineering, plant engineering, and quality teams.
• Translate product requirements into process specs, equipment needs, and control strategies.
• Support prototype to production builds and drive timely issue resolution.
• Lead or support equipment and tooling execution from design reviews to launch readiness.
• Provide technical direction to suppliers and coordinate cross-functional issue resolution.
• Implement error-proofing, process controls, inspection methods, and standardized work.
• Use data-driven methods to improve throughput, yield, downtime, and total cost.
• Support PFMEA, control plans, and process capability studies; assist with ramp-up and stabilization.
• Capture lessons learned and share best practices across sites.
