What To Expect
We're seeking a highly motivated Engineering Technician to help us push the boundaries of innovation in High Voltage Batteries. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for developing and testing the next generation of battery technology. To succeed in this role, you'll need to be extremely detail-oriented, hold yourself to the highest standards of quality, and be a team player who can collaborate with multiple engineering groups.
What You'll Do
- Design, build, and test engineering prototypes of new batteries for future Tesla products
- Develop and execute test setups for product validation testing
- Collaborate with engineering staff to enhance our current battery products
- Operate and maintain production-representative assembly equipment, including laser welders and dispensing gantries
- Maintain and calibrate cutting-edge lab instruments
- Provide meticulous documentation during builds, tests, and inspections
- Ensure a safe and organized lab environment
- Travel to support product launches at our global factories
What You'll Bring
- Extensive practical experience as an automotive/electronics engineering technician, or equivalent
- Proficiency in standard electronics lab tools, including multimeters, HiPot Testers, Resistance Meters, Oscilloscopes, and AC/DC power supplies
- Mechanical fabrication skills and in-depth knowledge of hand and power tools
- Understanding of basic electricity, physics, and engineering fundamentals
- Creative problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn and try new things
- Self-directed and able to work independently, with excellent communication and documentation skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to lift 45lbs
- Experience working with hazardous chemicals
- Associates or Technical Degree desired, but not required
- Machine shop and fabrication skills desired, but not required

Expected Compensation: $28.80 - $56.40/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits. Pay may vary depending on location, experience, and other factors.
