Job summary

Gildan is seeking a maintenance technician to perform basic battery and equipment maintenance within a distribution center. You will support preventive maintenance on tape machines, dock doors, and related equipment, and assist mechanics with daily tasks.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, strong mechanical aptitude, and good communication skills. Safety procedures, Lock Out Tag Out, and organizational duties are essential, with opportunities for growth and a robust benefits

I.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform basic maintenance as needed to keep batteries in good working order and ready for use.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tape machines, dock doors and dock plates.
• Assist mechanics with general duties
• Follow up and resolve issues.
• Responsible for assigned PM on equipment.
• Report results of problems / issues to DC Management.
• Gather trash and recycled items from containers.
• Operate Trash Compactor and Baler.
• Clean, maintain and repair all DC tape machines
• Responsible for all safety signs, lift area, eye wash stations and all general DC safety items.
• Must be licensed to operate a lift.
• Employee is responsible for safety that includes following all safety rules and following proper Lock Out Tag Out Procedures.
• Perform other duties assigned.

EXPERIENCE / SKILLS

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Read, write, add subtract, multiply and divide – understand implied instructions.
• Regular attendance is required.
• Must have general mechanical aptitude and knowledge of hand tools.
• Must understand battery maintenance and techniques.
• Ability to learn and comprehend distribution/production business is required.
• Must have good communication skills
