Job summary

Gildan is seeking a maintenance technician to support warehouse distribution operations. The role involves routine electrical and mechanical maintenance on equipment, safety systems, HVAC components, and conveyors, with hands-on use of tools and CMMS for inventory control.

You will work with a team to ensure safe, efficient operations, requiring height safety awareness, tool competency, and the ability to read blueprints and manuals. Training, tools, and teamwork are emphasized.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 – 3 years’ experience in warehouse/distribution/maintenance.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Outlook.
• Must be able to pass Equipment Operator training and operate equipment.
• Must be able to work safely from a variety of heights.
• Must have experience with conveyor systems.
• Must be able to provide personal hand tools.
• Must have ability to work in a team environment.
• Good communication skills both written and verbal.
• Good hand – eye coordination.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate knowledge of hand and power tool usage.
• Perform battery & maintenance support.
• Perform routine maintenance on facility safety systems (sprinkler, generator).
• Perform basic maintenance of HVAC systems and pumps, valves, thermostats, gauges.
• Demonstrate knowledge of air compressors/air dryers.
• Read and understand basic electrical/mechanical blueprints and manuals.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues in facility systems and conveyors.
• Maintain parts inventory using written records or CMMS.
• Operate company trucks and MHE; perform minor repairs as needed.
• Perform equipment installation and relocation as required.

The opportunity

With minimal supervision, performs maintenance operations from verbal/written instructions and established procedures to get assigned tasks accomplished. Performs intermediate electrical repairs and mechanical maintenance on warehouse distribution equipment and facility systems on a routine basis relying on training and experience to plan and accomplish assigned tasks and keep the warehouse operations functioning in a safe and efficient manner. This opportunity is based in our Sales Marketing and Distribution Team.

• Demonstrate knowledge of hand and power tool usage
• Perform all task required for battery & maintenance support
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on facility safety systems (sprinkler, generator, etc.)
• Perform basic maintenance of HVAC systems and components such as pumps, check valves, thermostats, flow valves and gauges
• Demonstrate knowledge of air compressors/air dryers
• Understand basic electrical and mechanical blueprints, schematics, manuals, and written instructions
• Perform minor troubleshooting procedures for electrical and mechanical issues connected with facility systems, equipment, and conveyors
• Demonstrate knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, lubrication
• Perform predictive and preventative maintenance
• Operates company trucks and material handling equipment (MHE)
• Perform minor repairs on trucks, trailers, and MHE
• Perform equipment installation and relocation as required to meet company needs
• Understand and utilizes basic technical manuals
• Maintain parts inventory using written communication or through CMMS program
• Perform other duties as assigned by Maintenance Manager/Supervisor as needed
