Job summary

General Motors seeks a Battery Cell Electrochemistry Analysis Engineer to advance electrochemical modeling, data science, and design optimization for electric vehicles. You will build multi-physics models, quantify aging, and improve range and charging capabilities in close collaboration with engineering teams.

The role demands strong modeling skills, 2+ years in industry battery work, and experience with COMSOL, MATLAB/SIMULINK, SABER, Python, and PyBaMM.

Qualifications

• BS in Chemical, Electrical, CS or Mechanical Eng; Chemical Eng preferred.
• Strong modeling and transport phenomena knowledge.
• 2+ years in battery modeling & analysis in industry.

Responsibilities

• Develop, calibrate, and maintain electrochemical and thermal battery models.
• Integrate models into multi-physics co-simulations for EV design.
• Document model assumptions and usage for cross-functional teams.
• Support vehicle level calibration, diagnostics, and controls development.
