Job summary

Delta Bev in Canoga Park, CA is seeking a Batch/Seller Operator to batch dry and liquid ingredients, weigh according to recipes, and manage transfers through finishing vessels. You will monitor carbonation, operate pumps, and document batch data in reports.

Job description

Delta Bev is a growing movement in the B. The right candidate will be responsible for batching beverages to be ready for packaging production using state-of-the-art automation (CIP skid, RO water filtration, de-aerated water, in-line blenders). Every day will present different challenges and you will be looked at consistently to provide the best service and innovative solutions to produce the highest quality products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manually batch dry and liquid ingredients – must be able to lift 55lbs consistently.
• Precisely inspects, stages, weighs, and mixes ingredients according to the product recipes.
• Collaborates with Quality Department on the analytical results and makes modifications or adjustments to the batches when needed.
• Ability to properly fill out batch reports, calculate variations in batch sizes, proper attributes, standards, and other data required on batch report documented per formula.
• Accurately documents lot numbers, quantities, and expiration dates on formulas per customer regulations.
• Performance measured based on batches within desired specifications versus out of spec.
• Transferring of beverages via hard and soft piping to finishing vessels.
• Operation of pumps, valves, and sequences in control systems
• Performance of basic laboratory testing and data recording.
• Monitor and correct the carbonation of beverages prior to packaging.
• Ability to properly prepare batch tanks for batching, tank rinsing, tank sanitation, odor, and tasting.
• Perform tank and line cleanings using a CIP system.
• Manage tank and line cleaning schedule with priorities.
• General cleaning following a master sanitation schedule with use of chemicals and pressure hoses.
• Troubleshoot systems and procedures as needed.
• Safely perform all work tasks; wear all required PPE.
• Once qualified, will be required to train incoming operators.
• Perform additional responsibilities and other tasks as assigned.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Due to state regulations, qualified candidates for this position must be at least 21 years of age and able to pass a fingerprinting background – certain criminal convictions may disqualify candidates based on state medical marijuana licensing regulations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint) and effectively use the Internet.
• Strong math skills required for measurement conversions, product calculations, and inventory management.
• Highly motivated, self-directed, worker that is able to work autonomously in a fast paced an often loud food production environment.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment with people of varying skills and backgrounds.
• The job requires physical activity, including prolonged standing, repetitive bending, climbing, and lifting or moving up to 55lbs (or more with a coworker). Good visual acuity, hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, and ability to perform repetitive motions with accuracy is required. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
• Effective analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills.
• Forklift experience preferred.

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday. 6am-2:30pm. Overtime may be required occasionally.
