Job Title: Batch Plant Operator
Duration: 06 months Temp to Hire
Location: Anniston, AL 36207
Shift: 3:30 PM – 2:00AM
Pay Rate: $19.50/hr. W2EDUCATION: MINIMUM HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR GEDMUST HAVE COMPUTER EXPERIENCE (ENSURE THIS IS CLEARLY DETAILED IN THE RESUME)WORKING HOURS: 3:30 PM – 2:00AMPotential overtime as business requiresTRAINING WILL BE ON DAYS 5AM – 3:30PM – WILL THEN MOVE TO NIGHT SHIFT (THE DURATION OF TRAINING WOULD DEPEND ON THE INDIVIDUALS ABILITY TO WORK INDEPENDENTLY)This role offers a $2.00 shift differential when working on nightsMANAGER’S NOTES BELOW: Safety focused, comfortable in manufacturing facility, work in elements of weather, comfortable getting dirtyA leading manufacturer of Concrete Lighting Poles, has an immediate opening for experienced machine operators in our Anniston, Alabama plant. The machine operator operates the batching process in a way that produces concrete meeting the quality and specifications of the mix designs. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify any Non-Conforming Products.
- Inventorying and ordering of aggregate, sand, cement, and additives.
- Receiving and properly storing the mix materSetup the mixes for daily production.
- Operate the batch equipment to produce the quantities required, minimizing waste.
- Properly complete operating logs.
- Work in a Safe and Timely Manner.
- Keep batch areas clean and orderly.
- Assist the Gravity Feed operator when necessary.
- Do preventative maintenance to machinery. Keep machinery lubricated.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and drawings required to carry out his/her job.
- Must be able to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measures, using whole numbers and decimals.
- Use of algebra todevelop proportions.
FACILITY/GROUP-SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Previous experience in a heavy manufacturing environment is a plus.
- Must be willing and able to work flexible shifts and change work schedules.
- Must be adaptable to a changing work environment, competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Repetitive movement with hands & fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools or controls include simple grasping, fine manipulation, pushing & pulling, and reaching with hands & arms.
- Must be able to stand/walk for 6-8 hours a day, occasional sitting.
- Requires frequent bending, stooping, twisting, and reaching.
- Lifting 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds.
- Must be able to work in a non-temp-controlled work environment with personal protective equipment.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS
- Safety glasses, hard hats, and steel-toe boots while in the shop area.
- Hearing protection when required.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
- Candidate must have a high school diploma or GED.
- 1-year fabrication shop or manufacturing environment experience a plus
- Ability to add, subtracts, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers and decimals. Good understanding of Geometry.
- Able to read a tape measure in millimetres and inches.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and drawings required to carry out his/her job.
- Ability to use hand tools, air-operated wrenches, and cutting torches.
- Must be able to operate overhead cranes and forklifts.
