OVERVIEW:


Job Title: Batch Plant Manager


Location: Transient


Job Type: Salary


Work Schedule: Monday - Saturday depending on Schedule


Performance Evaluated by: Vice President of Equipment and Paving


ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: **RC will gladly provide a reasonable accommodation to assist batch plant managers in performing these essential job functions so long as it does not create an undue burden



  • Supervise the operation of the concrete plant and blending belt/pug mill to batch materials.

  • Assist the Batch Plant Supervisor with the coordination of daily plant activities such as scheduling truck drivers and ordering plant materials

  • Determine work procedure and assigns duties to personnel concerned with batching and hauling concrete, and maintenance of plant and equipment

  • Responsible for ensuring that the set up and disassembly, operation, maintenance and record keeping of portable concrete batch plants, to include blending belts and pug mills are completed according to company standards.

  • Responsible to ensure preventative maintenance is performed on all plant equipment.

  • Manage controls on control board to heat, dry, weigh and mix aggregate, cement, and water to produce concrete that conforms to project specifications.

  • Forecast parts (i.e. boiler; chiller) and materials needed weekly.

  • Plan and schedule repairs on a weekly basis

  • Manages inventory control functions

  • Develops teamwork among employees while upholding Company guidelines, policies and procedures, and maintaining morale across all department levels.

  • Responsible for ensuring environmental and safety policy compliance of all activities at the plant, including outside contractors, and to immediately take appropriate steps to correct conditions of non-compliance.

  • Ensures that good housekeeping and safety practices are maintained are recorded.

  • Make changes to the mix design to maintain quality as instructed by General Manager

  • Conducts performance reviews of subordinates


EDUCATION AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:



  • At least 5 years' experience required

  • Maintain a current NRMCA Plant Manager certification required

  • Maintain a current ACI Concrete Field Technician - Grade I certification required

  • Must possess a thorough knowledge of all aspects of concrete batching technology, equipment, methods and safety as required.

  • Basic computer skills- Windows and Microsoft Office

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

  • Required to maintain a valid Driver's License, preferably a Class "A" or Class "B" commercial driver's license.


EDUCATION AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS CONTINUED:



  • Driving record must meet RC Construction Company's standard requirements.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain military base access

  • Have a reliable method of transportation to timely arrive and depart at the beginning and ending of each shift


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:



  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit for long periods of time.

  • Ability to move in and around confined and cluttered places and uneven areas

  • Ability to repeatedly climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, and twist throughout the workday and week

  • Ability to use hands and fingers to feel and grasp objects, tools, or controls

  • Ability to reach overhead and out at shoulder height with arms and hands

  • Ability to speak and hear to communicate and receive signals in a loud environment

  • Ability to push, pull, lift and transport up to 75 lbs

  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

  • Ability to climb up and down a 20-foot ladder and balance

  • Ability to work up to a 12-hour shift in all weather and temperature extremes


WORK ENVIRONMENT:



  • Employee will be required to wear personal protective equipment as needed to perform job tasks

  • Employee is regularly exposed to noise, dust, and various types of smells

  • Employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles.

  • Employee is regularly exposed to wind, cold, wet, hot, and/or humid conditions, and all extreme outside weather conditions

  • Employee must be able to properly use and handle toxic or caustic chemicals.

  • Employee is regularly exposed to vibrations, high precarious places, and confined spaces

  • Employee is expected to work in a safe and efficient manner while maintaining a clean work area
