Job summary

Mars Petcare in Mattoon, IL is seeking a Receiving/Mill Operator to batch/mix raw materials into high-quality products and to receive, test, analyze, and process ingredients safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities include unloading incoming materials, operating the batching system, coordinating bin strategies, managing grinders, and maintaining a clean, safe workplace while upholding GMP practices and quality standards. The role requires basic math, good communication, and physical stamina.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent plus 1-2 years' experience (manufacturing environment preferred).
• Good basic math, reading, and writing skills.
• Good mechanical aptitude.
• Basic knowledge of personal computers.
• Good problem-solving skills.
• Good housekeeping skills and knowledge of GMP's.
• Ability and willingness to develop and manage self, demonstrate self directed workgroup leadership and contribute to efficiency, quality, and cost optimization with minimal supervision.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to operate forklift in a safe manner.
• Ability to work rotating shifts under stressful conditions such as heat, cold, high and/or confined spaces and have full mobility with the ability to climb ladders and stairs.
