Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Batch Mixer for its Alsip, IL location. This permanent, on-site role starts with hands-on labor and advances toward full batch mixing and chemical formulation, with comprehensive training provided by supervisors.

You will work with large batches, operate reactors, pumps, and milling equipment, and maintain thorough batch records while following SOPs and safety procedures. Training and strong benefits accompany this position.

Qualifications

• 3+ years manufacturing experience in a production environment.
• 3+ years in blending, formulating, chemical operating, or batch mixing.
• Experience in chemical or pharmaceutical environments preferred.
• Proficient with HMI / control screens for equipment.
• Able to weigh and measure raw materials accurately following batch sheets.
• Comfort with large batches up to 4,000 gallons.
• Strong attention to detail and adherence to SOPs.
• Effective communication across shifts and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Attend safety meetings and apply safety practices to all tasks.
• Review batch sheets and understand formulation requirements.
• Weigh and measure raw materials according to batch specs.
• Handle liquids and powders from drums, totes, and bags safely.
• Load materials into reactors and monitor loading sequences.
• Monitor gauges, controls, and HMI systems for proper operation.
• Follow SOPs and production guidelines during batch prep.
• Keep detailed batch records and production outcomes.
• Work with batches up to 4,000 gallons with consistent quality.
• Monitor machinery and respond to irregularities promptly.
• Notify maintenance for issues and support resolutions.
• Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping during and after runs.
• Communicate batch status and issues to next shift and supervisors.
• Collaborate with a helper and progressively assume formulating duties.
• Assist with packaging, staging, and order preparation as needed.
• Support overall production goals and safety standards.
