Job summary

Mixer Systems, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Controls Engineer to design, program, test, and support batch control systems for our mixer and process equipment.

You will develop PLC/ HMI software, electrical schematics, and control panels, and partner with mechanical, manufacturing, and service teams through design to startup and commissioning. The role requires 3+ years in industrial automation, proficiency with Logix 500 and Studio 5000, and strong troubleshooting and documentation skills.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or related technical field required.
• 3+ years designing, programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting industrial control systems.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley Logix 500 and Studio 5000 PLC programming.
• HMI development using FactoryTalk View or similar.
• Experience designing electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and BOMs.
• Knowledge of VFDs, motor controls, sensors, and industrial Ethernet.
• Strong troubleshooting and project management skills.
• Effective communication with customers and teams.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed.
• Proficient in English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, program, test, and maintain industrial control systems for batching, mixing, and material handling equipment.
• Develop and modify PLC programs using Allen-Bradley Logix 500 and Studio 5000.
• Develop and modify HMI applications.
• Design electrical control systems, panels, schematics, wiring diagrams, and BOMs.
• Specify components including PLCs, HMIs, drives, and sensors.
• Perform testing, I/O verification, and validation before shipment.
• Support startup and commissioning remotely and on site.
• Troubleshoot electrical/PLC/HMI issues on equipment.
• Analyze performance and implement improvements.
• Provide technical support to customers and internal teams.
• Review specs to select appropriate controls solutions.
• Coordinate requirements with mechanical engineering and stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate drawings, programs, and documentation.
• Document changes to programming and electrical designs.
• Develop standardized PLC logic and HMI screens.
• Assist with training for batch control operations.
• Manage multiple projects and deadlines.
