Job summary

YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region is seeking a Basketball Referee to officiate youth games for ages 10–18, promoting sportsmanship and YMCA core values. You will ensure safety, fairness, and on-time starts, while communicating professionally with coaches and players.

Requires knowledge of basketball rules, ability to work with youth and maintain calm under pressure. Saturdays are essential, with seasonal hours; CPR/First Aid is a plus and referee certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basketball rules and gameplay.
• Ability to work with youth athletes ages 10–18.
• Strong communication and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Reliable transportation and punctual attendance.
• Must be available to work Saturdays during the summer, fall, and winter sports seasons.
• Must be at least 19 years old.
• Preferred: Previous officiating experience.
• Preferred: CPR/First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

• Officiate youth basketball games according to YMCA and league rules.
• Ensure player safety and enforce fair play during all games.
• Start and end games on schedule.

• Manage game flow and maintain control of the court.
