Job summary

The YMCA of NWNC in Clemmons, NC is looking for an energetic sports official to officiate youth and adult games, build relationships with participants, parents and coaches, and ensure a safe, enjoyable experience aligned with YMCA guidelines.

Evenings and weekends are required, with varying schedules by season. CPR/First Aid/AED certification is preferred or can be obtained within 30 days of hire to support a mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Must officiate youth and adult sports games with sound judgment.
• Strong interpersonal skills to engage with coaches, participants and parents.
• Knowledge of major sports and ability to enforce rules.
• Evenings and weekends required; schedule varies by season.

Responsibilities

• Officiate youth and adult sports games with enthusiastic passion and sound judgment.

• Assist with projects as needed and monitor activities in gym/field for safety.
• Ensure a fun, safe, and quality experience aligned with Association policies.
• Help coach pre-school Rookie Sports programs.

APPLY BY FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 4, 2026The sports official must have an enthusiastic personality with an ability to develop relationships with participants, parents and other staff. They must have general knowledge of the major sports and a desire to use that knowledge to grow professionally with the YMCA. They should present themselves in a professional, caring manner and have excellent communication skills. They should also learn and understand the YMCAs mission and best practices in order to help foster and ensure all sports practices, games and events at the gym have a mission driven atmosphere.Schedule: Varies according to season and program needs. Evenings and weekends required. Possible Schedule: Mondays-Fridays 4:45pm-8:45pm, Saturdays 7:45am-6:00pm.Responsibilities include:Officiate youth and adult sports games with enthusiastic passion and sound judgmentEngage and build relationships with coaches, participants and parentsAssist with projects as neededMonitor all activities in the gym or field including proper use of equipmentAssure a fun, safe and quality experience that is in accordance with Association policies/guidelines.
