Job summary

Associated Recreation Council (ARC) is seeking Basketball Official/Referee for the 2026-2027 season at North Seattle community centers. The role runs seasonally from January 9, 2027 to March 21, 2027, with trainings in December 2026.

It offers Fridays and Saturdays schedules, at Green Lake, Lake City, and Loyal Heights centers in North Seattle. The position requires fundamental knowledge of basketball and its rules, and an interest or experience in working with kids.

Qualifications

• Understands basketball rules and officiating mechanics.
• Experience working with children or youth participants.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Officiate basketball games for youth teams.
• Maintain a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all participants.
• Ensure fairness and accuracy in calls during the game.

If you have a fundamental knowledge of and passion for the sport of basketball, Associated Recreation Council (ARC) has a role for you as Basketball Official/Referee at various community centers in North Seattle. This is a seasonal part-time role estimated to begin December 2026. There are multiple opportunities to extend.ARC, in partnership with Seattle Parks and Recreation, serves Seattle by offering access to licensed childcare and a variety of recreational and lifelong learning programs, classes, and activities.
