Job summary

The St. James in Springfield, VA seeks a part-time Basketball Events Associate to support basketball leagues, tournaments, camps, and special events.

You will help with game operations, venue setup, and on-site guest assistance, ensuring smooth scheduling and high-quality experiences for athletes, coaches, and families. This role requires flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays, strong organizational and communication skills, and familiarity with basketball rules.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced sports and event environment.
• Experience in sports operations, event management, athletics, hospitality, or concierge services is a plus.
• Familiarity with systems such as LeagueApps, Eventbrite, or Tourney Machine is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with court and venue setup and breakdown.
• Support game operations including scoreboard and scorekeeping.
• Coordinate tournament/event logistics and scheduling.
• Monitor courts and ensure events run on schedule.
• Assist with event registration, ticketing and team check-in.
• Provide on-site information and support to teams, coaches, and guests.
• Maintain equipment and spaces to be event-ready.
