Job summary

NSD131 is seeking an Assistant Coach in a temporary role within the Athletics department. The position involves motivating and developing athletes, promoting fair play, and providing leadership to excel in baseball and related activities.

The assistant coach will support tryouts, practice planning, game rosters, and supervision of students at events, with focus on safety, equipment, and compliance with school policies and state athletic guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Idaho Teaching Certification, American Sport Education Program Certification, or NFHS Coaching Certification preferred.
• Certification or willingness to obtain First Aid and CPR.

Responsibilities

• Attend tryouts, practice meetings, and supervise students during field trips and events.
• Assist with organizing practice schedules and game rosters.
• Assist with assigning positions and developing strategies.
• Coach athletes in baseball fundamentals and conditioning.
• Track student performance and compile season stats.
• Coordinate transportation, scheduling, and official coordination for competitions.
• Ensure safety and proper use of safety equipment.
