Job summary

Newmark is seeking BAS technicians to troubleshoot, install, service or program building automation systems and assist in commissioning and servicing building controls and facilities management systems.

Responsibilities include programming databases, calibrating control systems, delivering graphical interfaces when required, and training client staff on operation and energy management routines. Applicants should have 2+ years in DDC/BAS startup and strong HVAC knowledge.

Qualifications

• 2+ years DDC/BAS start-up, checkout and service experience.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, building automation and energy management.
• Experience programming/troubleshooting multiple systems including ABB/Siemens/KMC/Distech/Tridium/Honeywell.

Responsibilities

• Program databases to meet sequences of operation and manufacturer recommendations.
• Calibrate and checkout control systems ensuring commissioning obligations are met.
• Assist in graphical user interface preparation and delivery for projects.
• Instruct client personnel on operation and maintenance of temperature control systems.
• Monitor BAS systems and resolve performance issues.

Job description

BAS technicians with the ability troubleshoot, install, service or program building automation systems are all urged to apply. Other duties related to assisting in the commissioning and servicing of building controls and facilities management systems.

Responsibilities

• Program databases for all supported systems to meet specified sequences of operation and equipment manufacturers' recommendations, in accordance with company standards and contract documents.
• Perform calibration and check-out of control systems and ensure that specified sequence of operations and commissioning obligations are met.
• Assist the graphics coordinator and/or provide the labor and expertise for the preparation and delivery of graphical user interfaces when required for projects.
• Instruct client/customer personnel on operation and maintenance of temperature control systems and energy conversation routines.
• Monitor BAS systems, equipment performance and resolve issues.

Qualifications

Skills, Education and Experience:

• Two or more (2+) years of DDC/BAS control system start-up, checkout, and service experience
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, control systems, building automation, electrical systems, energy management
• Programming and troubleshooting skills with ABB, Siemens, KMC, Distech, Tridium/Honeywell, and other equivalent systems.
• Experience with pneumatic controls
