Job summary

The Hunton Group, through Convergentz, seeks a Building Automation System (BAS) Installation Technician in Houston to install, terminate, test, and document BAS components and wiring. You will work with project managers, controls technicians, electricians, and other trades to ensure installations meet drawings, specifications, and codes.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required
• 2–5 years BAS controls or low voltage install experience preferred
• Trade school or technical certifications a plus
• Strong communication skills—written and verbal
• Excellent customer service, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Technical and mathematical aptitude; knowledge of Microsoft Office and programming tools
• Valid Texas driver’s license and clean driving record
• Willingness to travel locally, overtime may be required

Responsibilities

• Review drawings and specs before starting installation
• Install BAS control panels, field controllers, sensors, actuators, relays, transducers, thermostats, and network devices
• Install and route low-voltage control, communication, and power wiring
• Terminate wiring at panels, controllers, field devices, and equipment
• Label devices and terminations per standards
• Verify BACnet MS/TP, Modbus, Ethernet networks and topology
• Coordinate installation with electricians and other trades
• Maintain redline drawings and project records
• Support startup, commissioning, and project closeout
• Follow safety policies and site procedures
