Job summary

Air Systems, Inc. is seeking a BAS Field Programmer/Engineer to design, program and install Building Automation Systems for client buildings in Sacramento, CA. You will create control programs, manage databases, and document system compliance while coordinating with project teams.

The role requires hands-on field startup, testing and commissioning, with strong communication and customer-satisfaction focus. Travel to job sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years Direct Digital Controls (DDC) programming, startup and commissioning experience.
• Technical degree in HVAC or Electronics preferred; engineering degree acceptable.
• Knowledge of ALC Controls, Distech, Niagara certification and other DDC controls.
• Strong MS Office, PlanGrid, Bluebeam skills; good wiring, schematics understanding.
• Ability to read construction drawings and interpret sequences of operations.

Responsibilities

• Review project docs holistically: plans, specs, schedules, RFIs and submittals.
• Design and build systems database, configuration and graphics per specs.
• Perform field start-up, testing, and functional validation.
• Provide start-up support and equipment parameter settings on site.
• Verify trends, alarms and annunciation across controls projects.
• Troubleshoot installation and operation issues on BAS projects.
• Prepare RFI, MOP, minutes and documentation for each project.
• Develop and maintain project turnover and commissioning docs.
