Job summary

A leading technology firm in New Jersey seeks a Senior Building Controls Technician to perform maintenance tests, analyze BAS systems, and advise on technical resolutions. Candidates must have at least five years of experience in Building Automation Controls Systems and strong troubleshooting skills. This role requires a valid Driver's License and extensive travel.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of experience with Building Automation Controls Systems.
• Basic Ethernet networking including setting up of IP addresses.
• Knowledge of Building Automation Control systems with troubleshooting experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct semi-complex maintenance tests and analyze existing BAS systems.
• Advise Project Managers and technicians on issue resolutions.
• Assist lead technician during owner training.

Stark Tech is actively looking for a Senior Building Controls Technician.

How Do You Excel In This Position

You should be able to conduct semi‑complex maintenance tests, analyze existing BAS systems, advise Project Managers, technicians, and external providers on issue resolutions, interpret mechanical drawings, configure, calibrate, and test sensors, actuators, and field devices, load, test, and confirm communication among BAS controllers, perform system check‑out, commissioning, and document results, assist lead technician during owner training, and cultivate strong customer relationships to enhance business prospects.

What Are We Looking For

• Five (5) years of experience with Building Automation Controls Systems, especially Schneider Electric, SmartStruxure, I/A, Andover Continuum, and/or Tridium Niagara R2/AX/N4.
• Five (5) year experience with Building Automation Systems and Protocols.
• Basic Ethernet networking including setting up of IP addresses and network communication.
• MS Office Suite experience.
• Strong computer skills.
• Knowledge of Building Automation Control systems with troubleshooting experience.
• Basic low voltage electrical testing skills.
• Must be authorized to work in the US.
• Ability to travel extensively with a valid Driver's License.

Additional Skills Preferred But Not Required

• Associated degree or 3 years of Vocational Technical Training.
• Experience with LON, BACnet, Modbus, and Metasys.
