Job summary

Southland Industries seeks an experienced BAS Field Programmer/Controls Engineer to design and manage building automation programs and databases for client projects. You will program, install, and document control systems for customer buildings, ensuring design compliance and strong client satisfaction.

You will lead documentation efforts, create BAS drawings for engineers, and collaborate with installation teams to verify wiring and device installation while solving complex challenges.

Qualifications

  • Mechanical Engineering Degree preferred.
  • 5+ years controls experience.
  • Ability to read construction blueprints and electrical schematics.
  • Knowledge of HVAC control systems required.
  • Knowledge of electrical schematics required.
  • Strong MS Office, Windows basics, TCP/IP knowledge.
  • Niagara certification and related controls knowledge preferred.
  • Clean driving record; able to lift 30 lbs.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast paced team environment.

Qualifications

Mechanical Engineering Degree preferred

  • 5+ Years Controls Experience
  • Ability to read construction blueprints and electrical schematics
  • Knowledge of HVAC control systems required
  • Knowledge of electrical schematics required
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office, Windows XP, file structure, basic TCP/IP network structure and web navigation
  • Knowledge of Visio a plus but not required
  • Knowledge of ALC Controls, Distech Controls, Niagara certification, and/or other DDC controls
  • Clean Driving Record Required
  • Able to lift 30 lbs.
  • Ability to multitask, problem-solve, and work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Creative and proactive, utilizing resources to meet project goals efficiently
  • Southland Industries is a signatory contractor of Local Union 250. We are ideally looking for someone currently located in the Garden Grove area.

Pay:

Final pay is determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. For California this ranges from $28.00/hour - $65.00/hour plus annual incentive, benefits, and retirement program as outlined above.
