Job summary

ATS Companies is seeking an experienced Building Automation Systems (BAS) Controls Project Manager to lead commercial and institutional controls projects from kickoff through closeout. This role requires coordinating with internal engineering and field teams, subcontractors, vendors, and customers to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery with safety in mind.

You will serve as the primary interface with customers and manage scope, schedule, and costs, while reviewing contracts and handling change

Qualifications

• 3+ years of BAS controls project management experience.
• Strong understanding of building automation systems, HVAC controls, and low-voltage systems.
• Experience managing commercial or institutional projects such as healthcare, education, or large office buildings.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and controls drawings.
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Proficiency with project management tools, spreadsheets, and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Manage BAS controls projects from contract award through final acceptance.
• Own project scope, schedule, budget, forecasting, and cost control.
• Coordinate engineering, programming, graphics, installation, commissioning, and closeout activities.
• Serve as the primary customer interface, including meetings, progress updates, and issue resolution.
• Review contracts, specifications, sequences of operation, and submittals.
• Manage change orders, including scope evaluation, pricing, and documentation.
• Lead project planning meetings and internal handoffs.
• Track labor, material, and subcontractor performance.
• Ensure projects comply with safety standards, company processes, and quality expectations.
• Support startup, commissioning, and owner training as required.
