Job summary

The Sonnenalp Hotel of Vail seeks Winter Seasonal Bartenders for Full-Time and Part-Time roles to join our Food & Beverage team for 2026-2027. You will craft cocktails and provide attentive service, contributing to the warm Sonnenalp atmosphere.

Primary duties include bartending at the bar and aiding servers, with a focus on guest experience, hospitality, and collaboration in a luxury hotel setting. Rolling applications for the winter season.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum two years of bartending experience required.
  • Friendly, warm and enthusiastic personality.
  • Luxury hotel experience preferred.
  • TIPS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Take orders from guests and beverage orders from servers.
  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.
  • Learn the names and recognize regulars.
  • Prepare garnishes for drinks and replenish snacks for bar patrons.
  • Present menus, make recommendations and answer questions about beverages or food items.
  • Report equipment problems and bar maintenance issues.
  • Assist in restocking and replenishment of bar inventory and supplies.
  • Notify manager on duty if a guest is not 100% satisfied.
  • Prepare drinks for the entire restaurant.
  • Act as a representative of Sonnenalp team.

Craft unforgettable guest experiences this winter at the Sonnenalp Hotel. We're looking for talented Full-Time and Part-Time Seasonal Bartenders to join our Food & Beverage team for the 2026-2027 winter season. From expertly prepared classic cocktails to personalized guest interactions, you'll play an important role in creating the warm and welcoming atmosphere our guests have come to expect.

Wage: $12.14 /hour, plus tips
Application Deadline

Hiring will occur on a rolling basis. Applications will be accepted until October 1st or until the positions are filled.

Primary Purpose Of Position

The Bartender is to provide friendly, attentive, and timely service to create an exceptional experience for all of our guests. Each bartender’s primary objective is to prepare drinks for patrons at the bar while also making drinks for servers throughout the restaurant. The Bartender is often required to act as host, waiter, and busser while carrying out the specific duties of Bartender.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Take orders from guests and beverage orders from servers.
  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks consistent with the Restaurant’s standard drink recipes.
  • Learns the names and personally recognize our regulars.
  • Prepare garnishes for drinks and replenish snacks for bar patrons.
  • Present menus, make specific recommendations and answer questions regarding beverages or food items
  • Report all equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to bar supervisor.
  • Assist in the restocking and replenishment of bar inventory and supplies.
  • Notify manager-on-duty any time a guest is not 100% satisfied with their experience
  • Prepare drinks for the entire restaurant
  • Act as a responsible, personable representative of the Sonnenalp team
Education/Experience
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum two years of bartending experience required
  • Friendly, warm and enthusiastic personality
  • Luxury hotel experience preferred
Special Skills/Equipment
  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older
  • TIPS certified preferred
  • Drink knowledge required
  • Positive team attitude required
  • Personable disposition which is maintained in pressure situations required
  • Strong organizational skills required
  • Knowledge of POS system preferred
  • Able to work a variety of shifts, often late into the evening.
  • Be willing to follow direction and ask questions for clarification if needed.
  • Be able to work in a fast paced restaurant environment
Essential Physical Requirements
  • Must maintain a clean and neat appearance
  • Position primarily performed indoors assisting a variety of guests
  • Able to lift up to 40 lbs
  • Standing for extended periods of time, up to 10 hours at a time
