The Sonnenalp in Vail is seeking enthusiastic Full-Time and Part-Time Seasonal Food & Beverage Servers for the 2026-2027 winter season. You will deliver exceptional dining experiences in award-winning outlets, managing four to six tables per shift and assisting as host or busser when needed.

Food & Beverage Server - Winter Seasonal

Spend your winter delivering exceptional dining experiences at one of Vail's premier luxury resorts. The Sonnenalp Hotel is seeking enthusiastic Full-Time and Part-Time Seasonal Food & Beverage Servers to join our team for the 2026-2027 winter season. You will provide genuine hospitality while serving guests in our award-winning restaurants and lounges. Winter Seasonal Dates: 11/04/2026 - 4/11/2027 - Can change based on business levels.

The F&B server is responsible for exceptional guest service in the Sonnenalp Food & Beverage outlets. Each server is responsible for four to six table sections, which turns up to three times during a shift. The server is often required to act as host and busser while carrying out the specific duties of their position. The position requires working closely with a high volume of demanding clientele and other staff. F&B servers must not only be congenial, but able to appropriately deal with customers and fellow workers. At all times, the servers are expected to be attentive to our guest needs and making them feel welcome, comfortable, important and relaxed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Set restaurant for business: responsible for all assigned opening, closing and weekly side work duties. Prepare and set tables, lay out napkins and utensils, make sure condiments are refilled, perform all other preparation task.
• Stay updated on current menu choices, specialties and menu deviations. Have knowledge of all menu items and its ingredients and answer guest questions about food and drinks. Inform guests of food and drink specials, suggest dishes, assist in drink selections, inform customers about food preparation details and communicate special customer needs to the kitchen
• Serve food and drink while creating a professional and caring relationship with customers.
• Fill in for absent staff as needed.
• Assist Host/Hostess in greeting and seating guests.Assist fellow co-workers in completing their duties such as running food and bussing tables.
• Keep a safe and clean working environment for staff as well as guests. Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed and directed by supervisor.
• Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently.
• Adhere to LHW standards at all times.
• Participate in related F&B training/seminar program and wine training as needed.
• Act as a responsible, personable representative of the Sonnenalp Food and Beverage Team.

Education/Experience

• At least two years of serving experience in an up-scale restaurant highly preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent
• TIPS certification preferred

Special Skills/Equipment

• Personable disposition which is maintained in high pressure situations required
• Basic understanding of wine, cocktails and liquor required
• Basic food knowledge required
• Strong organizational skills required
• Excellent guest service and oral communication skills required
• Common sense of urgency required
• Should be prepared to work long hours and variable schedule, to include holidays and weekends

Essential Physical Requirements

• Position primarily performed indoors assisting a variety of guests.
• Working conditions will vary with season; high traffic during peak season, medium traffic during off season.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on occasion.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including holidays and weekends.
• Should be prepared to work long hours and able to stand for an extended time.
