Job summary

Starwood Hotels is seeking a bartender to craft classic and creative cocktails and provide exceptional guest service at our bar. You will engage with guests, recommend drinks, and ensure every guest has a memorable experience in a fast-paced environment.

Applicants should have prior bartending experience, strong English communication, and the ability to multitask while maintaining high standards of safety and cleanliness. Flexibility for a 24-hour operation is a plus.

MAIN DUTIES:

AsBartender at WATR, you willbe responsible forcrafting classic and creative alcohol and non-alcoholic beverages, engaging with customers, and ensuring that every guest has a memorable experience. Creativity, knowledge of mixology, and excellent customer service skills helpestablishthe operation’s reputation as a go-to destination for exceptional drinks.

GENERAL DUTIES:

• Maintains a working knowledge of full food and drink menu while making recommendations

• Create a diverse range of handcrafted cocktails, mocktails, and other specialty beverages with precision and flair, using high-quality ingredients, techniques, and garnishes. Continually innovate and introduce new and exciting drink creations.

• Provide exceptional customer service by warmly welcoming guests, engaging in friendly and professional conversation, and understanding their preferences. Offer recommendations and suggestions based on their tastes, ensuring a personalized and enjoyable experience.

• Efficiently and accurately take drink orders, prepare them promptly, and serve beverages with attention to detail and presentation.Ensureall orders are prepared in compliance with company standards and specific customer requests.

• Demonstrate an extensive understanding of classic and contemporary mixology, including various spirits, liqueurs, bitters, and other ingredients. Stay updated on emerging trends and new techniques within the industry.

• Maintain a clean and organized bar area, ensuring all glassware, utensils, and bar tools are sanitized and readily available. Adhere to safety and hygiene protocols, including proper handling and storage of ingredients.

• Uphold company policies and procedures, including adhering to work schedules, dress code, and attendance guidelines.

• Adhere to all company safety and sanitation policies and procedures

• To ensure that all perishable items used behind the bar are labeled/dated and responsible for rotating and throwing away tomaintainquality control

• Performs opening side work and set up station

• Attends andparticipatesin any training sessions, department meetings

• Proper serving of wine and alcohol (with awareness)

• Properly executes closing procedures

• Followhigh standardsof food product, sanitation, storage, and handling procedures

• Provides guest check promptly and returns receipt promptly

• Keeps all service and table areas clean, organized, and stocked

• Provide engaged, friendly and attentive customer service to all guests inclusive of eye contact respectable conversation and smiling

• Practice highest regards for safety within all areas and with all materials

• Follow and adhere to all standards set forth byfederal and state guidelines

• Have knowledge of state and federal liquor regulationspertaining toserving alcohol

• Perform other related activities as assigned by management

• Guarantee neat and quality service

• Participate in daily shift meetings

• Follow company cash handling and payment tendering procedures with care

• Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications;properly storeflammable materials.

• Ensure compliance with hotel policies, procedures, and standards with self and colleagues.

• Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.

• Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

• Prior bartendingexperience

• Proficient in verbal and written English communication

• Are organized and proficient at multitasking

• Are a reliable team player willing to learn and adapt to new situations

• Strong communicationand customer service skills

• Able to lift at least 50 lbs.

• Able to stand forlong periodsof time

• Food Handling certification (can be obtained during employment)

• Flexibility to meet the demands of a 24-hour operation.Due to the nature of the hospitality industry, team members maybe requiredtoworkvarying schedules, including holidays and weekends, to accommodate the business and demands of the property.
