Qualifications

The Service Bartender is responsible and accountable for all aspects of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages sales and service at bar outlets throughout the casino. Ensure consistent quality of products. Prepares and serves beverages with a sense of quality and a flare unparalleled in the local market to enhance the experience of the guest during their visit with Live! Casino and Hotel.

Where You'll Make an Impact:

1. Responsible for setting up bars.
2. Responsible for handling all cash transactions.
3. Responsible for all opening and closing inventories of all stock.
4. Responsible to take orders from guests and servers and serving the orders accurately and in a timely manner.
5. Keep area in a clean and orderly manner.
6. Monitor supply levels and assess stocking needs.
7. Direct and observe bar back staff.
8. Responsible to have knowledge of guests limitations and company policy and procedure regarding limitations.
9. Ensure guests receive a favorable gaming experience.
10. Consistently maintain appearance standards, as established.
11. Knowledge of alcoholic beverages, liquors, wines, beers and ales; portray an “ask me” image with knowledge.
12. Knowledge of all bar equipment, Easy Bar System, ABC laws and regulations and gaming laws; knowledge of bar operations.
13. Knowledge of sanitation and health department regulations for safe handling of alcohol.
14. Other duties as assigned.

Skills to Help You Succeed:

1. Ability to “upsell” and recommend products to guests.
2. Ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
3. Ability to speak, read, write and understand basic instructions in English.
4. Ability to make change from sales; reconcile and balance sales at the conclusion of the shift.
5. Demonstrate ability to entertain bar guests within socially-appropriate standards.
6. Able to effectively handle situations that may arise due to intoxication.
7. Ability to communicate with all departments and other team members.

Must-Haves:

1. Education: A high school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred. Completion of professional bartending training desired. Mixology training a plus.
2. Experience: Minimum of six (6) months to one (1) year experience as a bartender in a high volume operation.
3. You will be exposed to an alcohol and smoking environment and must be able to work in such environment.
4. Must have the ability to secure and maintain licensure as required by Louisiana Gaming Control Board or any other applicable regulatory entity as may be required to perform assigned duties, or as required by Live’s operating standards.
