Job summary

Whispering Creek Golf Club is seeking a friendly Bartender/Server to join our team in Sioux City, IA. You will provide exceptional service at the bar, prepare and serve drinks, and assist with food orders in a community-focused club environment.

Candidates must be at least 18, have a high school diploma or GED, and ideally have prior bartending or food service experience with Responsible Alcohol and Tobacco training.

• Able to calculate liquid measurements for pours.
• Ability to do simple math and count change accurately.

Responsibilities

• Attends to service needs of patrons in the bar area, including food and beverages.
• Maintains stock and cleanliness of the bar area.
• Prepares and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages with proper pours.
• Checks IDs and confirms legal drinking age.
• Records drink orders into the register immediately after receipt.
• Takes food orders, records them, and delivers to bar patrons.
• Cleans glasses, utensils, and bar equipment per guidelines.
• Monitors stock levels and communicates low items to management.
• Follows Responsible Alcohol and Tobacco service policy and closing duties.
• Maintains punctual on-site attendance for all shifts.

JOB SUMMARY

Attends to the service needs of club patrons in the bar area including food and beverage service. Maintains the stock and cleanliness of the bar area.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

1. Promotes, works and acts in a manner consistent with the values of LGM.
2. Attends Responsible Alcohol and Tobacco Service training and adheres to the Responsible Alcohol and Tobacco Service policy.
3. Prepares and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to bar patrons. Utilizes drink measures and proper pours.
4. Checks customers’ identification and confirms it meets legal drinking age.
5. Records drink orders accurately and immediately after receipt into register system.
6. Collects guest payment, processes credit card charges and makes change (if applicable).
7. Takes food orders, records food orders into register system and delivers orders to bar patrons.
8. Preps and cooks food to order as needed.
9. Maintains the stock in the bar and the cleanliness of the area. Arrange bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink preparation and promotion of beverages.
10. Cleans glasses, utensils, and bar equipment per company guidelines and health department requirements.
11. Prepares garnishes for drinks and replenishes snacks, appetizers for bar patrons.
12. Communicates low stock items to the food and beverage manager as appropriate.
13. Follows closing and duty lists as appropriate.
14. Reports all equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to company management.
15. Attempt to limit problems and liability related to customers’ excessing drinking by following company procedures.
16. Demonstrates a commitment to the work and success of the club and the Company by being service- and solution-oriented, having positive interactions with all club staff and members/guests, and meeting established quality, service and safety expectations.
17. Performs additional assignments per the direction of club or Company managers.
18. Regular and punctual attendance on site for all scheduled shifts is required.

Education and Experience

1. Must be at least 18 years of age
2. High school diploma or GED required
3. Previous experience in food service/bartending preferred.
4. Responsible Alcohol and Tobacco training and/or certificate
