Job summary

Le Meridien Chicago - Oakbrook Center, part of Crescent Hotels & Resorts, is seeking a Bartender to join our Food and Beverage team. In this role you will serve beverages and food to guests in a friendly, timely manner, prepare drinks for servers, and handle cashier duties at the bar.

Candidates should have at least 6 months of bartender experience, hold a food handler and TIPS certification (or equivalent), and be flexible about working various days, evenings and weekends to fit our guest-first

Responsibilities

• Serve beverages and food to guests in a friendly, courteous, timely manner.
• Prepare beverages for other servers and act as cashier for the bar.
• Maintain bar setup and stock, including garnishes and supplies.
• Greet guests, take and document orders, and ensure portion control.
• Handle cash and card transactions via POS for each guest.

Here is what you will be doing each day:

In this role as Bartender, you will serve beverages and/or food to the guests in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner, resulting in guest satisfaction. Also, to prepare beverages for other servers to supply to guests, and act as cashier for the bar. You will maintain proper and adequate set-up of the bar, which includes requisitioning and stocking of all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments and produce based on projections from the daily functions sheet. You will be responsible for maintaining stock, cutting, and storing of all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and other perishables daily to insure product quality. Greeting guests in a courteous and friendly manner, promotes and documents orders for drinks. Mixing, garnishing and presenting drinks using standard ingredient recipes and practicing prudent portion control. Handling of all cash and credit card transactions using the point of sale to create a check for each guest to maintain accountability of all beverages served.

You have at least 6 months of experience as a Bartender and have your food handler and TIPS certification (or equivalent).
