The Bartender is responsible for consistently delivering results that contribute to the mission and overall success of the hotel by accomplishing performance objectives covering the social venues of the hotel. The bartender sets-up, services, and breaks-down the bar area ensuring a high level of quality, consistency and service.
The Bartender sets the tone for Sonesta’s mission of “Wowing” our guests with Amazing Moments. The role’s primary responsibility is to welcome guests, take orders, prepare and serve food and beverage items to guests in a friendly, courteous and timely manner in accordance with quality standards. The Bartender must maintain supplies and follow established cleanliness and sanitation guidelines. The ideal candidate has a passion for hospitality and providing exceptional guest service.
Must be able work in a fast-paced environment. Majority of work takes place indoors. Must be able to tolerate extreme temperatures - i.e. kitchens, freezers.

Must be flexible to work variable days of the week to include weekends and holidays. Must be flexible to work variable shifts (days, nights, overnights). Ten to twelve hour shifts sometimes required.
Experience as a Bartender required, preferably in a high-volume bar. Experience with computerized cash registers preferred. High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Able to work quickly without compromising quality. Ability to work with minimal supervision and maintain a high level of performance. Attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to all guests, managers and fellow employees. Must be able to stand and exert fast-paced mobility for entire shift. Ability to work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team. Food handlers and TIPS certificates required. Previous front facing guest service experience required. Must read, write and speak the English language fluently. Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
