Location Description

The Hilton Philadelphia at Penn's Landing is uniquely situated directly on the Delaware River Waterfront at Penn's Landing in downtown Philadelphia. It features 350 well-appointed guest rooms and 24,000 sq ft of meeting space, offering an exceptional experience with modern amenities, city or river views, and renovated interiors.

Overview

The responsibilities of the Bartender include providing excellent customer service by preparing drinks and food orders, attending to guests' needs, and maintaining a high service standard. Additional duties include:

1. This position is SEASONAL (Summer time)
2. Learn, practice, and maintain Hilton Penn's Landing Service Standards.
3. Record drink orders accurately and promptly into the register system.
4. Accept guest payments, process credit card charges, and make change if applicable.
5. Wash and sterilize glassware.
6. Prepare garnishes and replenish snacks for bar patrons.
7. Maintain bottles and glasses attractively and functionally for efficient drink preparation.
8. Clear and reset tables in the bar area.
9. Ensure proper payment methods are used.
10. Present drink menus, recommend beverages, and answer questions.
11. Maintain cleanliness in all bar areas.
12. Serve food orders to guests seated at the bar.
13. Assist with restocking and replenishing inventory.
14. Address guests by name during service.
15. Adhere to hygiene and sanitary standards.
16. Thank guests and invite them to return.
17. Attend scheduled meetings and suggest improvements.
18. Arrive on time, dressed in a complete, clean, and pressed uniform.
19. Hold current TIPS or equivalent alcohol service certification.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years bartending experience
• Strong customer service skills
• Availability to work varied shifts, including holidays and weekends
• Ability to handle money and operate a POS system
• Ability to stand for long periods
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds safely
