Job summary

DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Hotel Anaheim Resort Convention Center is seeking a part-time Bartender for the PM shift. You will prepare and serve drinks, maintain bar setup, verify IDs, handle guest orders, and manage cash with accuracy.

Applicants should have prior bartending or bar service experience; CA Food Handler Card and Responsible Beverage Service certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire, and must be 21+. Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly is essential.

Qualifications

• Previous bartending or bar service experience preferred; training provided.
• California Food Handler Card required within 30 days of hire.
• Responsible Beverage Service certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Ability to remember recipes and menu items and work quickly in a busy setting.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate well enough to take orders and assist guests.
• Friendly, professional manner, with attention to detail and a team attitude.
• Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks according to hotel recipes and standards.
• Set up and maintain the bar, including garnishes, glassware, ice, and supplies, and keep the bar clean and sanitary.
• Check identification to verify age for alcohol purchases, and follow standards for identifying and managing intoxicated guests.
• Take orders, serve food and beverages to guests seated at the bar and lounge, and make drinks for restaurant and room service servers.
• Issue guest checks, process payments, and balance a cash drawer.
• Complete beverage requisitions, help take inventory, and restock the bar at the end of the shift.
• Respond to guest requests and concerns, and refer unresolved issues to a supervisor.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
• Work as a team with other hotel staff, and perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands

Must be able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to stand and walk for extended periods and lift, push, or pull up to 30 pounds, such as kegs, cases, and ice.

Schedule

Part time, PM shift.

Pay and Benefits

Pay: $16.90 to $17.40 per hour.

Benefits: paid sick leave as required by California law.
