Job summary

Omni Fort Lauderdale Hotel is seeking an experienced Bartender to join Reef 76 Kitchen & Bar. You will mix drinks to standard recipes, serve guests with a friendly and professional approach, and maintain a clean, organized bar.

Knowledge of wine, spirits, and beer, plus MICROS input, are essential to ensure accurate orders and smooth service. The role requires excellent guest service, the ability to handle busy periods, and flexibility to work weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1-year bartending experience.
• Developed knowledge of wine, spirits, and beer with experience selling and presenting wines.
• Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate both verbally and in writing in English with guests, management, and co-workers.
• Ability to accurately and efficiently input information into MICROS.
• Ability to handle stressful situations, while maintaining a calm and welcoming demeanor.
• Ability to work cohesively with co-workers both within and outside of your department.
• Ability to prioritize, organize and follow up on guest requests and needs in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent customer service, service recovery and problem-solving skills.
• Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.

The Omni Ft. Lauderdale Hotel is a 29-story hotel, located at 1950 Eisenhower Blvd, and connected directly to the Broward County Convention. The property offers 801 guest rooms and suites, multiple restaurants, a vibrant rooftop bar, a sprawling pool, spa, and fitness center. The hotel has over 120,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space, including a grand ballroom, junior ballroom, 25 breakout rooms and pre‑function meeting space with waterfront views.

JOB PURPOSE

The Bartender is responsible for providing efficient, friendly, and professional guest service while maintaining a clean, organized, and high‑quality bar at Reef 76 Kitchen & Bar—a bold and vibrant dining destination that celebrates the flavors of the Sunshine State with Caribbean flair and cultural influences.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• To follow, enforce, comply, and adhere to all Omni rules, policies, procedures, standards and recipes at all times.
• To properly set‑up and maintain a clean efficient bar throughout the shift.
• Greet guests when entering the restaurant with a pleasant smile and superior customer service.
• Take orders and answer questions/offer suggestions on both food and beverage menu selections, and daily specials.
• Mix drinks for servers according to standard recipes.
• Familiarity with the wine list and the stemware and appropriate garnishes used.
• Follow procedures as outlined in employee manual and bartender’s manual. Jigger pour, making drinks for servers only when rung in on Micros.
• Ensure the consistency in the presentation and recipes of all cocktails.
• Be familiar with and enforce all policies related to liquor liability laws.
• Record transaction in MICROS system at time of order, and adhere to cash handling standards.
• Be familiar with all property amenities and other restaurants.
• Present accurate check to guest and process payment.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the day.
• Polish and clean the water glasses in his/her assigned station before opening hours.
• Station set‑up and breakdown/side‑work.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be able to stand and walk for an extended period or for an entire work shift in indoor/outdoor environments.
