Job summary

The Higgins Hotel is seeking an outgoing Bartender in New Orleans to craft cocktails and deliver exceptional guest service. You will interact with guests, study drink menus, and ensure a memorable bar experience in a luxury setting.

Ideal candidates will have bartending experience, TiPS certification, and a commitment to hospitality, with the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays in a vibrant urban property."

Qualifications

• Prefer 1 year of bartending experience.
• Food/Beverage Service Worker Permit, where applicable.
• TiPS Certification required; must obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Display knowledge of drink recipes, drink and wine merchandising specials.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Read, write and speak English fluently.
• Working knowledge of drink service and bar terminology.
• Meet minimum age requirement of jurisdiction.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Display knowledge of basic drink service and bar terminology.
• Maintain work areas clean and organized.
• Prepare and serve cocktail orders in a timely manner.
• Clean bar, bar walk-ins, and liquor storage areas as assigned.
• Stock bars at wells as assigned.
• Check guests for proper identification.
• Balance bank and daily receipts.
• Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor to include cross training.
• Attend required meetings.

Overview

The Higgins Hotel & Conference Center's name reflects the contributions of the extraordinary entrepreneur, Andrew Higgins, who designed and built over 20,000 boats in New Orleans that were used in every major amphibious assault of World War II.
