Job Summary

The food and beverage serving employee will be primarily responsible for taking orders and serving food and beverages to patrons at tables in a dining establishment.

In addition to the hourly wage, bartenders receive a five percent tip out from each server on sales and keep their own personal tips.

Work Tasks

• Preparing alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for patrons.

• Check patrons' identification to ensure that they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages.

• Assist host or hostess by answering phones to take to-go orders.

• Present menus to patrons and answer questions about menu items, making recommendations upon request.

• Take orders from patrons for food or beverages.

• Serve food or beverages to patrons.

• Greet guests and help seat guests when needed.

• Check with customers to ensure that they are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems.

• Collect payments from customers.

• Clean tables or counters after patrons have finished dining.

• Sanitize glasses.

• Ensure that the pub shelves and the bar cooler stay stocked with necessary items to prepare drinks.

• Perform cleaning duties such as sweeping floors, vacuuming carpet, tidying up the pub, and taking out trash.

• Perform food preparation duties such as preparing salads, select appetizers, and portioning desserts.

Skills

• Previous bartending experience is a plus but not required. We will train the right person!
