Job summary

Safe Harbor Marinas, LLC (SHM) is the largest owner and operator of marinas in the world, offering a full benefits package and opportunities for professional education and training. The Bartender is responsible for maintaining the bar area, serving bar patrons, and filling drink orders for the dining room.

Essential duties include greeting guests, taking orders, mixing drinks, checking IDs, processing payments, and planning drink menus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous bartending experience required.
• TIPS certification preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Meets state minimum age to serve alcohol.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.

Responsibilities

• Greet all guests in a friendly and welcoming manner.
• Create an atmosphere that allows guests to feel welcome, comfortable, important, and relaxed.
• Take accurate food and drink orders.
• Select and mix ingredients, garnish glasses, and serve beverages to customers.
• Check identification to ensure customers are legal age to consume alcohol.
• Process payments efficiently and accurately, as well as balance register.
• Take inventory and order supplies to ensure facility is well stocked.
• Plan drink menu and inform customers about new drinks and specials.
• Available to work overtime when required.
• Other duties as assigned by Manager.

The Bartender is responsible for maintaining the bar area, serving restaurant and bar patrons at the bar and filling drink orders for the dining room. The Bartender must have extensive knowledge of liquor mixed drinks, beer and wine. Thinking quickly, awareness of surroundings and monitoring patrons for signs that they have had too much alcohol are also skills required to do this position well.

Safety and Environmental Responsibilities

• Follow SHM Safety and Environmental rules and complete required related training.
• Wear proper personal protective equipment as required for the task or work area.
• Report all accidents, injuries, spills and near misses immediately.

Technical and Physical Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous bartending experience required
• TIPS certification preferred
• Customer Service experience preferred
• Working knowledge of spirits and related beverage items
• Meets state minimum age to serve alcohol
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to bend, stoop, lift, rotate, reach
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Any skills considered standard that a Bartender should posses
