Job summary

Valor Hospitality Partners is seeking a bartender to set up, mix drinks, serve guests, and clean the bar area while maintaining high service standards and profit goals. You will ensure accurate transactions and compliance with liquor laws.

The role requires basic beverage knowledge, proper wine service, and the ability to work in a fast-paced hospitality environment, with opportunities for growth within our hotel portfolio.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent experience.
• Three - Six months experience in a food/beverage services environment.
• Must have vision ability to clearly see detailed guest checks and operate in dim lighting.
• Able to mix cocktails correctly.
• Able to provide wine service.
• Must have manual coordination to handle buttons and carry trays.
• Able to read, speak and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Make and serve drinks to guests and cocktail servers following guidelines.
• Perform guest contact activities cordially and professionally.
• Check customer’s identification to confirm drinking age.
• Ring guest checks and process payments as per policies.
• Complete liquor requisitions and supply lists.
• Know and comply with state liquor laws and obtain Tips certification.
• Ensure established pars are maintained.
• Perform side work according to schedules.

POSITION PROFILE

Responsible for set-up, mixing of drinks, service and clean-up of bar area while enduring quality service, guest satisfaction and the achievement/maintenance of company standards and profit maximization.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILTIES

• Make and serve drinks to guests and cocktail servers following established guidelines, procedures and policies regarding beverage and safety controls as prescribed by company standards.
• Perform all guest contact activities in a cordial, efficient and professional manner; maintaining a commitment to guest satisfaction.
• Check customer’s identification to confirm that the customer is of drinking age.
• Ring guest checks; collect cash and process credits and room charges in the exact manner outlined by company policies and procedures.
• Complete liquor requisitions and supply lists.
• Know and comply with state liquor laws, obtain Tips certification.
• Ensure established pars are maintained.
• Perform all side work duties according to side work schedules.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• High school education or equivalent experience.
• Three - Six months experience in a food/beverage services environment or establishment.
• Must have vision ability to clearly see detailed guest checks, computer print outs, written instructions and to observe entire restaurant in dimly lit conditions.
• Able to mix cocktails correctly
• Able to provide wine service
• Must have manual coordination to punch buttons, grasp items in hand, and to balance and carry trays loaded with food and beverages.
• Able to read, speak and understand English.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Able to lift, push, carry 20 - 40 lbs.
• Stand continuously for long periods of time.
• Communicate information and hotel services to management, staff and guests.
