Job summary

Hershey Lodge in Hershey, PA is seeking a friendly part-time bartender to greet guests, prepare and serve alcoholic beverages, and maintain bar cleanliness in a fast paced resort setting. You will operate the POS system, handle cash, adhere to PLCB regulations, manage beverage inventory, and assist in training other staff while delivering exceptional guest service.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Experience serving alcohol preferred.
• Excellent guest service skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and take beverage orders.
• Prepare and serve alcoholic drinks according to menu.
• Operate the POS system and handle cash accurately.
• Maintain bar cleanliness and assist with opening/closing duties.
• Assist in training other staff and maintain inventory.

Job Duties

• Knowing the proper preparation of all alcoholic drinks which are on the menu
• Operating the point of sale system
• Understanding and adhering to all accounting and cash control responsibilities within 60 days of hire
• Receiving and storing beverage products in a proper and orderly manner
• Ensuring that glassware and bar utensils are washed and presentable before they are used
• Completing all side work as set forth in the operating standards
• Completing all opening and closing responsibilities
• Ensuring the bar par is adequate and that the liquor requisition is according to standard
• Assisting in the training of other staff
• Completing other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Working knowledge of alcoholic drinks, including wines and beers.
• Must be able to service/dispense alcohol in line with established PLCB regulations.
• Must demonstrate a proven ability to work with other employees in a positive manner.
• Should have a proven ability to work in an accurate and safe manner.

Job Demands

• Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and be able to stand for the duration of shift.
• Shifts include weekends, holidays, and late evenings.
• This is a union position and the work schedule will be based on union seniority. Candidates must be able to meet scheduled requirements, which will most likely require evening and weekend hours.
