Job summary

Rancho Santa Fe Association is seeking a bartender to join our newly renovated restaurant team. You will deliver refined beverage service in the Club's bar, lounge, and patio, plus at Member events, ensuring satisfaction for Members and guests at all times.

Responsibilities include crafting cocktails, managing inventory, and coordinating with servers and kitchen staff to ensure timely, personalized service while upholding health, safety, and sanitation standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years bartending in a high-volume upscale setting.
• Current RBS certification and Food Handler card, or ability to obtain.
• Strong knowledge of classic and craft cocktails, spirits, wine and beer.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and serves cocktails, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages per recipes and standards.
• Maintains knowledge of wine list and spirits to make informed recommendations.
• Checks IDs and monitors alcohol service per CA ABC regulations and policy.
• Maintains clean bar station and completes opening/closing side work and inventory counts.
• Processes Member charges via POS system accurately.
• Builds rapport with Members and guests for personalized service.
• Provides bar service for tournaments, events, and functions as scheduled.
• May perform additional duties; supports team as needed.
• Complies with health, safety and sanitation standards; maintains grooming/uniform standards.
• Assists in beverage inventory and coordinates with servers/kitchen for seamless service.

Monday, September 28 from 12:00pm-6:00pm

Tuesday, September 29 from 9:00am -12:00pm and 4:00pm - 7:00pm

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for the preparation and service of beverages in the Club's bar, lounge, and patio, as well as at Member events. Delivers refined, personalized service consistent with the standards of a private Member-owned club. Ensures satisfaction of all Members and guests at all times.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepares and serves classic and craft cocktails, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages according to Club recipes and standards.
• Maintains thorough knowledge of the Club's wine list, spirits selection, and seasonal beverage offerings to make informed recommendations to Members and guests.
• Checks identification and monitors alcohol consumption, refusing service responsibly and in compliance with California ABC regulations and Club policy.
• Maintains a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar station; completes opening and closing side work, including inventory counts and requisitions.
• Accurately processes Member account charges via the Club's point-of-sale system.
• Builds genuine rapport with Members and their guests, learning names and preferences to deliver consistently personalized service.
• Provides bar service for tournaments, private events, banquets, and Member functions as scheduled.
• Because of the fluctuating demands of the Club's operation, it may be necessary that each employee perform a multitude of different duties; therefore, an essential part of the position will be to help others when the occasion arises.
• Maintains full compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards at all times.
• Ensures all staff is in proper uniform and meets grooming standards.
• Assists in beverage inventory as needed.
• Coordinates closely with servers, food runners, and kitchen staff to ensure seamless, well-timed service.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum 2-3 years bartending experience in a high-volume, upscale restaurant, hotel, or private club
• Current RBS (Responsible Beverage Service) certification and Food Handler card, or ability to obtain
• TIPS or equivalent alcohol service certification preferred
• Strong working knowledge of classic and craft cocktails, spirits, wine, and beer
• Excellent communication and guest service skills
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Flexible availability; ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

PAY RATE:

$16.90

All offers are contingent upon a successful background check as well as a drug screening. We follow Federal guidelines related to drug screening results, prior to appointment of position.
