Job summary

Suser Restaurant Group, home to Sparkies Kitchen & Bar, Stella's Table, and Union 212 Banquet Hall in Oakland County, Michigan, is seeking a Bartender. The role focuses on crafting exceptional drinks and delivering warm hospitality behind the bar in a fast-paced setting.

You’ll greet guests, advise on cocktails, maintain a clean, stocked bar, handle transactions, and work with servers to ensure a seamless guest experience while complying with Michigan alcohol service laws.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of bartending experience in a full-service restaurant or bar.
• Solid knowledge of cocktails, spirits, beer, and wine.
• Michigan TIPS or ServSafe Alcohol certification preferred.
• Strong guest service skills with an outgoing, engaging personality.
• Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong cash handling and basic math skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and dependable with a strong work ethic.
• Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds regularly.
• Must be of legal age to serve alcohol per Michigan state law.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve beverages accurately and efficiently per recipes.
• Greet guests, take orders, and recommend cocktails, beer, wine, and menu items.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and stocked bar throughout the shift.
• Monitor guest consumption and verify identification as required.
• Handle cash and card transactions per company policies.
• Communicate with servers, kitchen staff, and management for a seamless guest experience.
• Build rapport with guests to encourage repeat visits.
• Set up and break down the bar before and after each shift.
• Monitor inventory levels and alert management when supplies need replenishment.
• Assist with training and mentoring new bar staff.
• Uphold all company policies, health codes, and sanitation standards.
