Job summary

Suser Restaurant Group in Michigan is seeking a friendly, skilled Bartender to craft cocktails and provide outstanding hospitality in a fast-paced, high-energy setting. You will engage guests, recommend drinks, and maintain a clean, well-stocked bar to ensure a seamless experience.

We value 1–2 years of bartending experience, knowledge of cocktails, spirits, beer and wine, and state-compliant certification.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of bartending experience in a full-service restaurant or bar environment.
• Solid knowledge of cocktails, spirits, beer, and wine.
• Michigan TIPS or ServSafe Alcohol certification preferred.
• Strong guest service skills with an outgoing, engaging personality.
• Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong cash handling and basic math skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and dependable with a strong work ethic.
• Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be of legal age to serve alcohol per Michigan state law.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages accurately and efficiently, following standard recipes and presentation guidelines.
• Greet guests warmly, take drink and food orders, and provide knowledgeable recommendations on cocktails, beer, wine, and menu items.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar throughout the shift, including glassware, garnishes, and supplies.
• Monitor guest consumption responsibly and adhere to all alcohol service laws and regulations, including checking identification.
• Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately and in accordance with company cash handling policies.
• Communicate effectively with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure a seamless guest experience.
• Build rapport with guests to create a welcoming and memorable bar experience that encourages repeat visits.
• Set up and break down the bar before and after each shift, ensuring the bar is properly stocked and cleaned for the next service.
• Monitor and communicate inventory levels, alerting management when supplies need to be replenished.
• Assist with training and mentoring new bar staff as needed.
• Uphold all company policies, health codes, and sanitation standards at all times.

The Role

The Bartender is a key part of the guest experience at Suser Restaurant Group, responsible for crafting exceptional drinks and delivering outstanding hospitality from behind the bar. This role requires a passion for the craft, an engaging personality, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment — all while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and service.

What We’re Looking For

• Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

• Reliable, punctual, and dependable with a strong work ethic
• Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds regularly
• Must be of legal age to serve alcohol per Michigan state law
