Bar Sprezzatura in downtown Portland, located in the Heathman Hotel, seeks a Bartender who treats cocktails as storytelling, delivering impeccable drinks with warm hospitality to guests.

You will mentor peers, develop beverage programs, and thrive in a fast-paced setting while maintaining cleanliness and teamwork.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of fine dining bar experience.
• Excellent communication and guest service.
• Knowledge of spirits, wine, beer.
• Ability to lead and educate staff.
• Must be 21+ and able to stand long shifts.

Responsibilities

About the Role

At Bar Sprezzatura, the Bartender is more than a drink maker—they are a storyteller, a host, and a craftsperson. Responsible for delivering impeccable cocktails, warm hospitality, and an engaging guest experience, the Bartender embodies our standards of excellence while fostering connection at the bar. This role requires creativity, precision, and a passion for elevating every moment, ensuring each guest feels both welcomed and inspired.

Our Ideal Candidate

A motivated beverage professional who is organized, friendly, and passionate. You will be an integral part of our beverage team with a passion for educating and enthralling our guests.

You have amazing attention to detail, and expansive knowledge of spirits, wine, and beer. You work well as part of a team, work well under pressure and have a strong desire to learn and be a leader among your peers.

What you bring to the table

• 2-4 years’ experience in a fine dining or casual fine dining high volume bar or restaurant
• Exceptional communication skills
• Expansive food and beverage knowledge
• Experience in beverage recipe development and staff education
• Intellectual curiosity
• Ability to work clean, organized, and as part of a team
• Ability to move and lift 40 pounds at a time
• At least 21 years of age
• Must be able to stand and walk for an extended period of time
