Job summary

Makeready LLC is hiring a Host for Bar Sprezzatura at the Heathman Hotel in Portland, OR. You’ll be the first and last impression, greet and seat guests, manage reservations, and help ensure a smooth dining room flow with warmth and organization.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years in fine dining or high-volume settings, strong communication, familiarity with OpenTable, Seven Rooms, and POS, and the ability to multitask and work as part of a team.

• Exceptional communication skills

• Ability to learn and retain information quickly

About the Role:

As a Host at Bar Sprezzatura, you are the first and last impression of the guest experience. With warmth, organization, and grace, you’ll manage reservations, greet and seat guests, and ensure a seamless flow in the dining room while setting the tone for exceptional hospitality.

A motivated hospitality professional who is organized, friendly, and passionate. You will be an integral part of our service team and the first point of contact for our guests. You are well-spoken and exude hospitality in person and on the phone. You have amazing attention to detail, work well as part of a team, work well under pressure, and have a strong desire to learn.

What you bring to the table:

• 1-3 years’ experience in a fine dining or casual fine dining high volume atmosphere
• Exceptional communication skills
• Experience working with Open Table, Seven Rooms, and register POS systems preferred
• Ability to learn and retain information quickly
• Ability to work clean, organized, and as part of a team
• Ability to multi-task
• At least 16 years of age
• Must be able to stand and walk for an extended period of time
