Bar Sprezzatura, a Makeready collection venue in downtown Portland, seeks a Bartender who crafts exceptional cocktails and delivers warm hospitality. You will be a storyteller at the bar, uphold our standards, and foster guest connection through precision and creativity.

Ideal candidates bring 2–4 years in fine dining or high-volume bars, strong beverage knowledge, and a passion for educating peers. You’ll thrive under pressure and lead by example in a team-driven environment.

Located in the heart downtown Portland in the historic Heathman Hotel, Bar Sprezzatura is a bustling lunch spot by day and aperitivo and cicchetti bar at night. About the Role:

At Bar Sprezzatura, the Bartender is more than a drink maker—they are a storyteller, a host, and a craftsperson. Responsible for delivering impeccable cocktails, warm hospitality, and an engaging guest experience, the Bartender embodies our standards of excellence while fostering connection at the bar. This role requires creativity, precision, and a passion for elevating every moment, ensuring each guest feels both welcomed and inspired.

Our Ideal candidate is:

A motivated beverage professional who is organized, friendly, and passionate. You will be an integral part of our beverage team with a passion for educating and enthralling our guests. You have amazing attention to detail, and expansive knowledge of spirits, wine, and beer. You work well as part of a team, work well under pressure and have a strong desire to learn and be a leader among your peers.

What you bring to the table:

• 2-4 years’ experience in a fine dining or casual fine dining high volume bar or restaurant

• Exceptional communication skills

• Expansive food and beverage knowledge

• Experience in beverage recipe development and staff education

• Intellectual curiosity

• Ability to work clean, organized, and as part of a team

• Ability to move and lift 40 pounds at a time

• At least 21 years of age

• Must be able to stand and walk for an extended period of time
