Qualifications

  • Previous experience in events or food and beverage preferred.

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Strong cash handling skills.
  • Knowledge of Toast POS or a similar point-of-sale system.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Time management to ensure prompt service.
  • Ability to stand for 6-8 hours and lift up to 50 lbs.

Gulfshore Playhouse, a mission-driven, professional theatre company located in Naples, Florida,
is seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented, and hospitality driven individual to serve as a Team
Member. Join us at this exciting time, as we prepare to move into our new, state-of-the-art
theatre, and usher in a new era of professional theatre in Southwest Florida.

Gulfshore Playhouse offers a diverse season of straight plays and musicals ranging from
venerated classics and Broadway hits to contemporary works and world premieres. The
Playhouse is passionately committed to producing high-quality, professional theatre which
exceeds the expectations of the cultured residents and visitors of Naples, FL, many of whom are
regular theatre patrons in New York, Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C.

Gulfshore Playhouse has performed for many years in an intimate 200-seat venue at the Norris
Center, a municipal building run by the City of Naples. The Playhouse is in the final phases of a
$72M capital campaign and is fully under construction on the Baker Theatre and Education
Center, a state-of-the-art facility, featuring a 368-seat mainstage with a Broadway-sized stage, a
125-seat flexible space, rehearsal studios, classrooms, and rental space. In 2022, Gulfshore
Playhouse became nationally recognized as the 77th member of the League of Resident Theatres
(LORT). This is an extraordinarily exciting time for the Playhouse, which is experiencing
unprecedented growth.

Status: Part-time, seasonal position

Pay range: $18 per/hr, occasional tips

Start Date: October 2024

Representative Duties:
  • Prepare and serve food and beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) to patrons in a timely manner.
  • Provide excellent customer service by taking orders, answering questions, and providing menu item recommendations.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to guest satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in food handling and serving of alcohol.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the concession area, including washing glassware and utensils, restocking supplies, and disposing of waste.
  • Maintain acceptable food and beverage cost levels by managing inventory, waste, and reporting any discrepancies.
  • Handle cash transactions and process payments quickly and accurately.
  • Complete opening and closing duties as assigned or delegated by management.
  • Assist in preparation and execution of special events, including fundraisers, galas, and private functions.
  • Set up/breakdown for events according to pre-established layouts and instructions. This includes, but is not limited to, tables, chairs, linens, glassware, plateware, flatware, etc.
  • Collaborate with all Gulfshore Playhouse staff members to provide excellent customer service and create a world-class experience.
