Job summary

Carolina Yacht Club is seeking a bartender to serve its members with exceptional hospitality. You will greet guests by name, know the full menu, and prepare cocktails with care to enhance the dining experience.

Proficiency with the Jonas POS system and accurate billing are essential. You will manage bar inventory, maintain cleanliness, and contribute to a welcoming, memorable atmosphere for our members.

Qualifications

• Experience as a bartender in hospitality settings.
• Strong knowledge of cocktails, wine, beer and non-alcoholic options.
• Ability to greet members by name and anticipate needs.

Responsibilities

• Greet members by name when possible.
• Know menus across lunch, dinner, cocktails, wine, and desserts.
• Maintain beverage knowledge and proper use of Jonas POS.
• Charge members accurately for items and keep bar inventory tracked.
• Keep glassware polished and bar area clean and organized.

Job purpose

To serve our membership with the utmost hospitality while exceeding expectations and upholding a level of service that that meets club standards. This person will anticipate the needs of our members and fulfill all their requests to the best of their ability, while delivering excellent customer service, and creating a memorable experience.

Duties and responsibilities

1. Greet our members by their name (if able)
2. Have knowledge of all menus (dinner, lunch, cocktail, dessert, wine)
3. Have extensive beverage knowledge of liquor, wine and beer
4. Knowledge and correct use of Jonas POS system
5. Accurately charge members for correct items
6. Keeps glassware polished at all time
7. Responsible for completing all side work associated with the bar
8. Keeping up with personal hygiene based on club standards
9. Detailed oriented, keeping the bar clean and free from debris
10. Making sure product is fresh and current (fruit garnishes, syrups, etc.)
11. Keeping liquor bottles organized and clean
12. Keeping all areas stocked and prepared for easy access
13. Responsible for keeping bar stools organized
14. Able to be creative with cocktails tailored to member needs
15. Should be able to recommend beverages based on food pairing
16. Takes initiative with bar set up and par systems
17. Responsible for tracking on spills on our spill sheet
18. Responsible for accurately taking inventory of product at the bar
19. Able to keep appropriate and professional conversation with members at the bar

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Required to stand for long periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch and twist or reach.
• Push, pull or lift up to 50 pounds.
• Continuous repetitive motions.
• Work in hot, humid and noisy environment.
