Job summary

Responsibilities include stocking, mixing, serving, assisting with seasonal cocktails and menu development, POS handling, and ensuring compliance with liquor laws. A high school diploma or GED with 1–3 months of related experience is required.

Qualifications

  • Experience with POS systems preferred.
  • Strong hospitality and service orientation.

Responsibilities

  • Stocks bars, mixes and serves beverages; assists with inventory and cost control.
  • Assists with seasonal cocktails and menu development.
  • Helps with social media content scheduling and creation.
  • Maintains inventory control and communicates stock needs to management.
  • Ensures compliance with state liquor laws and SOPs.
  • Handles guest requests and cash transactions via POS.
  • Performs opening/closing duties and oversees events accordingly.
  • Ensures safety practices and reliable attendance.

Atkins Golf Club, located in Urbana, IL, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a part-time Bartender! We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast-paced hospitality-focused property organization. As part of Troon, you will contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.

Role:

Seasonal (Position will last 6 months or less.

Pay:

$15.00 - $20.00 per hour

General Purpose:

Makes and serves guests delicious beverages in accordance with established standards and with hospitality and professionalism. Creates memorable dining experiences through personalized and genuine interactions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Stocks bar, mixes, and serves alcoholic beverages; assists in cost control, inventory, and maintaining inventory records
  • Assists department leaders with the creation of seasonal cocktails and development of the menu
  • Assists department leaders with the social media schedule and creation of content
  • Maintains inventory control through conscientious use and careful monitoring of all food and beverage products; communicates with management in a timely manner when supplies are needed
  • Ensures compliance with applicable state liquor laws and standard operating procedures provided by management
  • Communicates guest requests and concerns to the Department Manager
  • Performs opening and closing duties that include, but are not limited to: inventory, cash control, cleaning, and restocking
  • Accountable for checks and cash transactions; utilizes Point of Sale System
  • Reviews banquet schedule for changes, calendar of events, and special events
  • Serves catered parties from service or portable bars
  • On occasion serves meals to guests
  • Incorporates safe work practices in job performance
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance
  • Performs other duties as required

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Requirements:

Experience in restaurant point-of-sale (POS) systems (e.g., POSITOUCH and MICROS).

Physical Demands:

Frequently stands, walks, talks, listens, and uses hands. Regularly reaches with hands and arms. Occasionally climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crawls, crouches, tastes, smells, and sits. Frequently lifts up to 25 pounds. Occasionally may lift up to 50 pounds.

Certificates/Licenses:

ServSafe Certified (Food & Alcohol) or TIPS equivalent.

Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences:
  • Knowledge of wine, spirits, beer, and current trends in the industry and marketplace
  • Possesses knowledge of cocktail recipes
  • Professional and courteous demeanor
  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to company values
  • Exceptional personal hygiene and positive representation of the organization to Troon employees, clients, and vendors
  • Fluent in English speaking, writing, and understanding
  • Must meet state age requirements for handling alcoholic beverages
