Job summary

Bohlsen Restaurants - Teller's Chophouse is seeking a Bartender to ensure consistent drink quality by preparing orders quickly and following Beverage Director guidelines, while maintaining a clean, sanitary work area and delivering superior guest service.

Responsibilities include greeting guests, bar/menu knowledge, taking and delivering orders, using suggestive selling, monitoring guest experience, managing stock, and performing side work to support fast-paced service.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• 3+ years bartending in full-service or fine dining.
• Knowledge of mixology and cocktails.
• Wine knowledge preferred.
• Able to stand 6+ hours.
• Able to lift/maneuver 25 lb trays.
• Flexible shifts including nights/weekends/holidays.
• Fast-paced environment with guest interaction.
• Excellent customer service and communication in English.
• Strong cash handling and POS skills.

As a Bartender, you ensure consistent drink quality by preparing orders in a short period of time and in accordance with recipes and guidelines established by the Beverage Director. You will also maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work area in a fast paced environment, while providing superior guest service.

Specific responsibilities include:

• Greet guests in a timely and professional manner


• Verify guests that purchase alcohol are at least 21 years of age


• Possess full knowledge of bar and menu items and be able to make recommendations


• Accurately take food and beverage orders from guests in a timely manner at the bar and lounge area


• Deliver beverage orders within established time frames


• Consistently use suggestive selling techniques


• Monitor and observe the guests experience and be available to meet any requests


• Ensure that alcohol is consumed in designated areas only


• Set up and maintain appropriate stock levels for the bar


• Maintain cleanliness at the bar to ensure organization, as well as perform side work duties before and after every shift


• Conduct inventory of all liquor and bar related supplies

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age


• Minimum of 3 years of experience operating a full service bar; fine dining preferred, but not required


• Knowledge of alcohol mixology, drink menus and classic cocktail preparation


• Knowledge of wine, preferred


• Ability to stand on feet for a period of 6 hours or more


• Be able to lift and manuveur trays weighing up to 25 pounds


• Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays


• Ability to work in a fast pace environment


• Excellent customer service skills with strong ability to interact with guests


• Must be able to clearly communicate, understand and read in English


• Posess accurate math and cash handling skills, as well as be able to operate a POS system
