Job summary

Wet Willie's in Town of Babylon, NY is seeking an experienced Bartender to deliver consistent drink quality and fast service in a lively setting. You will follow recipes from the Beverage Director and maintain a sanitary, safe bar area while providing guest-focused service.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Minimum 1 year of experience operating a full-service bar.
• Knowledge of alcohol mixology, drink menus and classic cocktails.
• Ability to stand for 6+ hours.
• Lifting/maneuvering trays up to 25 pounds.
• Flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Excellent customer service and guest interaction skills.
• Clear English communication and reading ability.
• Accurate math and cash handling; able to operate a POS system.

Job description

As a Bartender, you ensure consistent drink quality by preparing orders in a short period of time and in accordance with recipes and guidelines established by the Beverage Director. You will also maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work area in a fast paced environment, while providing superior guest service.

Specific responsibilities include:

• Greet guests in a timely and professional manner
• Verify guests that purchase alcohol are at least 21 years of age
• Possess full knowledge of bar and menu items and be able to make recommendations
• Accurately take food and beverage orders from guests in a timely manner at the bar and lounge area
• Deliver beverage orders within established time frames
• Consistently use suggestive selling techniques
• Monitor and observe the guests experience and be available to meet any requests
• Ensure that alcohol is consumed in designated areas only
• Set up and maintain appropriate stock levels for the bar
• Maintain cleanliness at the bar to ensure organization, as well as perform side work duties before and after every shift
• Conduct inventory of all liquor and bar related supplies

Requirements
